FANRPANmedia
FANRPAN is an autonomous multi-stakeholder driven network that was formally established and mandated to work in all African countries to generate and promote independent research evidence to inform food security policies. FANRPAN was formed in response to a call made by Ministers of Agriculture from southern and eastern Africa in 1994 to ensure that policies are evidence based and harmonized so that Africa can be food secure, free from hunger and poverty. FANRPAN addresses its mission by building capacity of actors along the research to policy value chain. FANRPAN convenes multi-stakeholder platforms that allow the demand side to articulate needs and the supply side formulate appropriate evidence-based policies. Its policy engagement and advocacy strategy is informed by: (i) robust and relevant evidence, (ii) advocates equipped with the evidence and (iii) multi-stakeholder policy dialogue platforms promoting engagement between the supply side and policy demand.
