United Nations
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations. Its mandate is to promote and accelerate sustainable industrial development in developing countries and economies in transition, and work towards improving living conditions in the world's poorest countries by drawing on its combined global resources and expertise.
UNIDO aspires to reduce poverty through sustainable industrial development. We want every country to have the opportunity to grow a flourishing productive sector, to increase their participation in international trade and to safeguard their environment. We work with developing countries and economies in transition, where we promote and accelerate industrialization as a source of economic growth needed to fight poverty. At the same time, we help protect the environment by supporting clean and sustainable industrial development.
