She obtained her undergraduate degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA. She also hold a masters degree in Education from the University of New Haven in West Haven, CT. Nerissa has spent time living in working in Japan and traveling throughout Asia. She has also done a great deal of humanitarian projects in New Orleans, LA after Hurricane Katrina. She has done a variety of projects ranging from building a restaurant from the ground up as well building a bed-and-breakfast hotel. Nerissa is also an artist, kick-boxer and model. Most recently, she has also taught English and Writing at a local college in New Orleans. She has a passion for educating others on a myriad of topics including history, financial mobilization and literacy.
