KaziBantu Project
The Nelson Mandela University in South Africa, the University of Basel and the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, in Switzerland, partnered to develop the KaziBantu Project, a multi-fold school-based intervention that will benefit the school community as a whole, focusing on schoolchildren and teachers.
The KaziBantu Project (Kazi – active, Bantu – people: KaziBantu – Active People) is dedicated to creating long-lasting positive changes in health, and providing opportunities for physical activity, by implementing a multi-faceted approach to address the health problems faced within disadvantaged settings in low- and middle-income countries. This Project is sponsored by the Novartis Foundation, a philanthropic organization which strives to implement a sustainable impact on the health of low-income communities through a combination of programmatic work, health outcomes research, and its translation into policy to tackle global health challenges.
