The origins of Tullamore Dew go all the way back to 1829 when the Tullamore Distillery was founded in Tullamore, County Offaly, in the heart of Ireland. Daniel E. Williams (D.E.W) , General Manager of the distillery, was quite a character; driven by passion and caring, he refused to compromise as he strove to create a smoother Irish whiskey with gentle complexity. With an intriguing smooth yet complex character, Tullamore Dew is triple distilled, but is also a unique blend of all three types of Irish whiskeys; pot still, malt and grain whiskeys. Using only the finest grains and purest water, it is patiently aged in ex bourbon and sherry casks to develop its gentle complexity.
