Where There
Dragons offers small-group, custom-crafted travel programs in Asia, Africa, and Latin America for High School, Gap, and College Study Abroad students, as well as Adults, Educators, and Schools.
We ask our participants to adapt to the places we travel, rather than asking those places to adapt to our expectations. We believe this approach generates reciprocal relationships, full of respect and appreciation. Our goal: to build empathy and foster a feeling of shared responsibility for our collective future.
Most of our videos are comprised of participant and community-sourced imagery, voices, music, and media. Our ethical medial making guidelines include: 1) Ensuring the media cultivates a respectful, kind, reciprocal, relationship that is sensitive to local customs and traditions. 2) Consulting with instructors for advice on navigating the pitfalls of stereotype-reinforcing, exaggerating, or exoticizing media. 3) Do no harm. Be accountable. And film with integrity.
