Global Kitesports
Formed by kitesurfing's biggest manufacturers, the GKA aims to represent the interests of the kite-sports industry to support and promote the interests of all (professional) kite riders.
The GKA advocates that the sport of kiting can be done in all countries in harmony with nature. This includes the feasibility of professional kiting competitions on suitable beaches. The GKA and its member brands aim to work with all national kiting associations as well as professional kite sports organisations to ensure sustainable long-term growth and stability for kite sports.
The GKA also aims to making kitesurfing even safer through the development and implementation of safety-standards.
In 2016 the GKA will also crown a Men's and Women's 'Freestyle' and 'Wave and Strapless Freestyle' Rider of the Year at the end of the GKA Grand Slam event season, which takes results from key events throughout the season.
