The Musical Ambassadors of the Army The United States Army Field Band tours nationally and internationally as directed by the Department of the Army. Each concert on a tour is sponsored by a local organization. The sponsoring organization is required to provide a suitable concert site, and conduct a publicity campaign designed to fill the hall. Preliminary planning of itineraries normally begins one year in advance of a tour. The Field Band often performs concerts in support of local community events such as centennial celebrations, festivals, and city or state commemorations.
