Michael Washington
I am a Musician/Entertainer, Music Educator and Photographer that has traveled Egypt to study middle eastern music and also to Bali, Bangkok, Thailand; Costa Rica, Panama, much of the Caribbean, South Korea, Colombia and Madrid to photograph in the streets and absorb the rhythm, art and cultures of those places. I also had the opportunity to live in Japan for 6 years all thanks to rudimental drumming and my passion for jazz and world music. I am currently playing in a few different projects and also teach privately as well as work with high school and jr. high percussion ensembles to hopefully give them the tools to be ready to have the opportunities that I have had if it comes their way. I got my start singing with my family's choir in church at age 4, drumming at age 10 in school and then touring/performing with drum & bugle corps from age 16 to 21 with Suncoast Sound and Spirit of Atlanta and later teaching with Tampa Bay Thunder, Kiwanis Kavaliers and Teal Sound.
